ARTIST BIO
Bosky /ˈbɒs.ki/ adjective
Meaning an abundance of trees or shrubs and bushes; attractively covered with trees.
The name Bosky Mind expresses my connection to nature.
My work is influenced by attributes related to the natural world such as organic forms, colours and patterns. The aim is to re-interpret these elements, and explore ways to mimic nature’s mindful sensations.
Green and blue are dominant colours in nature and the main colours that I work with in my practice.
Generally, there are positive associations with these colours such as tranquility, freshness and balance. Interestingly, some languages don’t have distinct words for ‘blue’ and ‘green’, so perception of the blue-green spectrum can differ slightly in different cultures.
I specialised in mixed-media at Manchester School of Art which gave me the opportunity to try out both traditional and non-traditional ways of working. During this time, I realised that at the root of my practice was the desire to elicit interaction.
As my work evolves, I’m keen to create larger scale work and entire environments, combining my craft skills, my love of immersive experiences and my interest in our connection to the physical world.
